We are excited to announce that ICE-Qube Baby Emergency Kits are easier to find than ever!

ICE-Qube Baby Emergency Kits

ICE-Qube Baby Emergency Kits are now available at Babies R Us. An ICE-Qube Baby Emergency Kit is a creative and useful baby gift idea for new parents. If you've ever been to a baby shower you'll know what I mean. The new parents usually receive dozens of very cute newborn-sized outfits. While these adorable outfits get the "ooohs and ahhhs" from other guests they are not a particularly useful gift. The baby usually grows out of them before wearing them much (if at all). My babies didn't even get to wear some of their cute newborn clothes at all before I discovered they were already too small.

Give the gift of emergencey preparedness!

ICE-Qubes Baby Emergency Kits are a practical gift that will get used! Look for them at Babies R Us.

What is ICE-Qube? So much more than an Emergency Kit.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010 4:59:39 PM EST

Say what it is. Simple advice. Could have saved me a lot of time. People ask me all the time, what is the Ice-Qube? So much more than just an emergency kit. I hesitate to call it that, but upon reflection, that's exactly what it is. The ice-qube is a really good emergency kit. ICE, stands for In Case of Emergency, a term most people are starting to understand. We make our Ice-Qubes for your In Case of Emergency moment - leave one in your car, your office, your apt., your home. And as a just-in-case product, give one to your mom, uncle, child or grandchild. So why not just call it the Ice-Qube Emergency Kit?

When considering what direction we go in, particularly as we optimize, do we go after emergency kits or kit, or go towards emergency preparedness? What about prepacked preparedness? What I know for sure is that the meta info and SEO done heretofore is nada. Starting again, to find a way to reach people in their moment when they are looking for their Emergency Kits for their emergency preparedness plan. Any thoughts?

Driving in the Rain - Car Safety Tips

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 10:27:28 AM EST

How to Drive in the Rain - Major Tip!

How to achieve good vision while driving during a heavy downpour. We are not sure why it is so effective; just try this method when it rains heavily. This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it.

It is useful...even driving at night. Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windshield is still bad......

In the event you face such a situation, just try your SUNGLASSES (any model will do), and miracle! All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windshield is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain.

Make sure you always have a pair of SUNGLASSES in your car, as you are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend's life by giving him this idea. Try it yourself and share it with your friends!??? Amazing, you still see the drops on the windshield, but not the sheet of rain falling. You can see where the rain bounces off the road. It works to eliminate the "blindness" from passing semi's spraying you too. Or the "kickup" if you are following a semi or car in the rain. They ought to teach that little tip in driver's training... It really does work. I wonder how many people know about this ~ A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago and totaled her car. A resident of Kilgore, Texas she was traveling between Gladewater & Kilgore. It was raining, though not excessively, when her car suddenly began to hydro-plane and literally flew through the air. She was not seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence! When she explained to the highway patrolman what had happened he told her something that every driver should know - NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON. She thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain.. But the highway patrolman told her that if the cruise control is on when your car begins to hydro-plane and your tires lose contact with the pavement, your car will accelerate to a higher rate of speed making you take off like an airplane. She told the patrolman that was exactly what had occurred. The patrolman said this warning should be listed, on the driver's seat sun-visor - NEVER USE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET OR ICY, along with the airbag warning. We tell our teenagers to set the cruise control and drive a safe speed - but we don't tell them to use the cruise control only when the pavement is dry. The only person the accident victim found, who knew this (besides the patrolman), was a man who had a similar accident, totaled his car and sustained severe injuries. NOTE: Some vehicles (like the Toyota Sienna Limited XLE) will not allow you to set the cruise control when the windshield wipers are on. If you send this to 15 people and only one of them doesn't know about this, then it was all worth it. You might have saved a life. Emergency Cellphone Tips

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 10:03:17 AM EST

Here are some mind blowing available technologies that could be of great value in an emergency.  Thank you Thea Mitzman for passing these good suggestions along. In addition to having an emergency kit and an emergency plan, check out these important solutions.

Cell Phone Magic - Print and Keep in Your Car!

5 Things You May Not know Your Cell Phone Can Do  For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.)

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.

Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST Emergency The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find Yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to Establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys In the car and the spare key is at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot From your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

THIRD Hidden Battery Power Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.

FOURTH How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone: *#06#.

A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

And Finally.....

FIFTH Free Directory Service for Cells Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial:

(800)FREE 411, or (800) 373-3411

without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.

This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.
