It's Official. Alex is a Hurricane.

For all my weather junkie friends, you must love watching the path for this storm. Dangerous and potent, this storm promises to raise additional havoc by interrupting  clean-up efforts in the Gulf. It's like watching a slow motion disaster film. If you had any illusion, about how in case of emergency, there would be a local governmental system to assist you, you may want to think again.

Self reliance is a a critical component of effective emergency preparedness. Simple steps to prepare will save lives and property in this storm, and any other. Hurricane Season is just beginning. Are You Ready?

A Reminder from Haiti - Get Prepared for an Emergency

Sunday, January 17, 2010 9:20:25 AM EST

The devastating scenes from Haiti make us aware again, of the critical need for proper supplies, in case of emergency, earthquake or any other disaster. We have no illusion, that an Ice-Qube emergency kit could save you from events like we are seeing in Port au Prince, but some water, lighting, first aid and emergency blankets could help get you to a safer moment.  How about a battery operated cell phone charger, do you have one? They are included in our Luxe Ice-Qube and sold separately on our site. In the event of an emergency, simple solutions like this  could help you eek out a couple more hours of cell phone service or text messaging, which could be your lifesaver.

Please take this moment to go to Ice-qube.com and download free emergency  ICE planners for all members of your family and those you love.  Add one to you wallet, hang one on the fridge, give one to the babysitter. In an emergency, your brain and memory goes haywire. It is our gift to you.  Have kids in your family, teach every one how to text, we have learned,  this is the methodology that works in an emergency.

In this sad moment, when so many are suffering, we take the opportunity to remind fellow compassionate people, to send money through a reputable source as we did. How I wish we were in a position to ship thousands of Ice-Qubes to Haiti. If each tent village family, were to receive just one Ice-Qube Luxe, they would have food, water and supplies including diapers, heavy gauge plastic tarping to provide some level of protection, hygiene and sanitation products for 4 people for three days, maybe enough to make them comfortable until the calvalry can get there.

It is our dream, our prayer and our hope to get to a position, where we can ameliorate the suffering of people by helping them to prepare pro actively.  Think of adding an Ice-Qube emergency kit to all your homes, all your cars, make sure your kids have one at college or on their own, prepare the seniors in your life. Life Happens. We help you to be prepared, but need you to work with us. The life you save could be your own.
